Freedom Fighters
At the Winter Fancy Food Show
With specialty food association
This past January, I had the opportunity to attend the Winter Fancy Food Show hosted by the Specialty Food Association in Las Vegas—and it was an unforgettable experience. As a first-time attendee and founder of a growing brand, I went in hoping to better understand the market: what’s working, what’s next, and how Freedom Fighters can keep evolving while staying true to our mission.
I came away with more than I expected.
From exploring packaging innovations and flavor trends to connecting with other purpose-driven brands, I left inspired and ready to take Freedom Fighters to the next level.
One of the most meaningful moments was meeting Carl Melville, founder of CoPack Connect. Carl took the time to hear my story—
my military service, my years in law enforcement, and now, this next chapter: building a snack brand rooted in giving back. We talked about the challenges of scaling and how CoPack Connect supports emerging brands by helping them find the right manufacturing partners. His support meant a lot, and I’m excited to keep working with his team as we grow.
More than anything, the show reminded me why I started this company. Freedom Fighters is more than snacks—it’s a way to support those who’ve served. I’m grateful to the Specialty Food Association for creating space for brands like mine to grow, connect, and be seen.
